Moving the lower note of an interval above the upper note (or vice
versa) is known as inversion:

Above, a Major 3rd inverts and becomes a minor 6th. Add these two
numbers in your head. Any interval and its inversion will add up
to 9!

Also notice that the Major quality above became minor. Qualities
