The Kyrie builds gradually, erupting in an exuberant Gloria featuring a virtuosic organ part; the Sanctus recalls the soft, sweet tones of angels that eventually erupt into a final, thrilling Hosanna; and the mystical Agnus Dei features a soprano soloist who, with chromatic, twisting melodies, pleads for mercy.
