Not-So-Perfect Intervals

A student was trying to construct Perfect intervals, but made a lot of mistakes! Are the intervals below too big, too small, or just Perfect? (Remember the Speed Tip from the previous page, and you'll fly through these!)

When an interval in the Perfect group is a half step too small we call it diminished. When an interval is a half step too big we call it Augmented.

Label the quality of the following intervals in the Perfect group:

Now construct some intervals of your own. You can always start by first constructing a Perfect interval, and then changing the accidental to make the interval bigger or smaller:

Congratulations, you've learned half of the intervals! Now it's time to test your knowledge: continue to the next page for a timed challenge using intervals from the Perfect group!
