Ascending Perfect Intervals
A Word on Double Sharps and Flats Double sharps and flats are no harder than single sharps and flats! Let's construct a perfect fourth above F double sharp. First, cancel out one sharp from the double sharp to make it a single sharp:
Then construct the interval as you normally would:
Finally, add the accidental you cancelled out (one sharp, in this case) back to BOTH notes, and you're done!
Sometimes it may help to cancel out two sharps or flats. Just remember, you must add back the same number of accidentals you cancelled to both notes!
